Drywall

Drywall Installation Services

Drywall sets the foundation for how every room in your home or business looks and feels. And honestly, it matters more than most people think. A wall hung poorly, taped unevenly, or rushed through finishing will show every single flaw the moment paint goes on it. Every. Single. One.

We had a project that had some complexity and a need to tie into the existing structure, but look like it was always there. They did an exceptional job! Crew was always on time, cleaned up every day, finished on schedule and on budget. Highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of working with Jose and his crews on a multi family project I ran in Phoenix awhile back. These guys are top notch, they do it right and if they do make a mistake they make it right no question asked. West coast had both our Stucco & painting contract and also bailed me out with a few other emergency scopes of work. You get what you pay for and more with these guys. Highly recommend!!!!

We had them add pavers to front of house/driveway, build some planter areas, and now build a retainer wall at front of the house. Excellent workmanship, great communication, and honest. Hired them more than once because they do amazing, beautiful work! Highly recommend!

I highly recommend West Coast Painting and Construction. They are affordable, honest, knowledgeable and professional. I found this company through a search looking for someone to texture and paint my garage ceiling. Jose and his team did such an excellent job, I had them do some patchwork and painting to the interior and exterior of my house as well. I then had them replace the flooring in my condo and patch and paint some walls, and again, they did a superb job. Jose knew I was under time constraints and did the work right away, within days of the request and sometimes even sooner. Anytime I called or texted, I got an immediate response. I took a chance on a company I didn’t know and it turned out to be the best choice I ever made. I even referred him to my sister and he worked both our jobs at the same time. If you’re looking for a company that takes pride in their work and is reasonably priced, then call West Coast Painting and Construction. Thank you Jose and team. You truly are the best!

At West Coast Painting and Construction, drywall installation is part of our full construction and remodeling work, and we do not treat it as just a step to get through. It is, kind of, the whole starting point. If the drywall is off, everything that comes after it is off too, including your professional house painting results.

We bring the same care to hanging and finishing drywall as we do to a completed paint job. Maybe that sounds like a small thing, but you know how it goes with walls. The better the base, the better everything looks at the end.

What Our Drywall Installation Services Include

Our drywall installation services cover everything from hanging new drywall sheets in a room addition to replacing damaged sections after water intrusion or impact damage. We install standard drywall panels, moisture-resistant sheetrock for bathrooms and laundry rooms, and specialty panels for garages or areas that need extra durability.

Once the panels are up, we move through the full drywall finishing process, which includes taping the seams, applying joint compound in multiple coats, sanding each layer smooth, and texturing or leaving a flat finish depending on what the space calls for. Whether the job is a single wall repair or drywall installed across an entire new addition, our approach stays the same from start to finish.

Who Turns to Us for Drywall Work

Homeowners across Mesa and the East Valley call us when they are finishing a room addition, repairing damage from a leak, or preparing walls and ceilings for a fresh coat of paint. Property managers and HOA boards bring us in when units need drywall repair between tenants or when common areas show wear that needs to be addressed before a repaint.

General contractors and remodeling crews also rely on us as a drywall contractor for phases of a larger project, since we can step in for just the drywall work or handle it alongside stucco repair, painting, and finishing.

Common Situations That Call for a Drywall Contractor

Most drywall projects start with a specific problem rather than a general desire to update a room. A ceiling stain from a roof leak often means the drywall above it has to come out and be replaced before repainting will hold. A room addition needs new drywall installed and finished before it looks like part of the original home.

Nail pops, cracked seams, and dented panels from moving furniture are common in older homes throughout Mesa, and patch jobs that were never properly taped tend to reappear within a year. In each of these cases, the underlying wall structure has to be addressed correctly, or the cosmetic fix will not last.

Problems We Solve With Proper Installation

A drywall project that skips steps creates problems that show up later, usually right after paint goes on. Visible seams, uneven texture, and soft spots around joint compound that was not sanded properly are the most common issues we get called out to fix after another crew’s repair did not hold.

We solve these problems by treating every seam and joint the same way, regardless of how small the repair is. That means mesh tape or paper tape applied correctly, several thin coats of joint compound instead of one heavy layer, and a finish that matches the surrounding wall so the repair disappears rather than standing out.

A few signs point to drywall problems worth addressing before they get worse:

Visible seams or nail heads showing through paint
Soft or spongy spots on a wall or ceiling
Cracks that keep returning after a patch
Uneven texture where a repair meets the original wall
Sagging or bulging sections on a ceiling

Our Drywall Installation and Finishing Process

Every project starts with a look at the space and a conversation about what the finished result needs to look like, whether that is a smooth finish for a modern interior or a texture match for an older home. From there, our team measures and cuts drywall panels to fit the space, hangs them with the correct drywall screws and spacing, and moves into the taping and mudding stage. We apply joint compound in layers, allowing proper drying time between coats, and sand each layer so the wall reads as one continuous surface rather than a patch.

If texture is part of the job, we match it to the surrounding walls or ceiling before the space is ready for primer and paint. We also take extra care around outlets, corners, and ceiling transitions, since those areas are where a rushed job usually shows.

Why Homeowners and Businesses Choose West Coast Painting and Construction

We have been working in Mesa, AZ, since 1978, and drywall is one of the services our crew has handled consistently across thousands of projects. We hold three active Arizona ROC licenses, ROC 219500, ROC 219501, and ROC 219502, all verifiable at azroc.gov, and we carry full commercial insurance on every job we take on.

Our in-house team of 20 or more employees handles drywall work directly, so the people who show up to hang and finish your drywall are the same people trained and managed by our company, not a rotating group of outside subcontractors. Every project is also backed by our workmanship guarantee, which gives customers confidence in the results without us having to ask for it.

For a closer look at how these same services apply to a specific city, our drywall installation services in Mesa, AZ, page covers patterns we see most often in that market, including how the local climate and soil conditions affect drywall over time.

Related Services That Pair With Drywall Work

Drywall rarely stands alone as a project. Many of our customers need it alongside other work, which is part of why we offer a full range of construction and remodeling services rather than a single specialty. If your project also involves exterior walls, our stucco and drywall services page covers how we handle stucco cracks and texture matching alongside interior wall repair.

For larger projects such as room additions or full remodels, our construction and remodeling services cover the build-out that new drywall usually follows. Once the walls are finished, our painting crew is ready to move straight into the final coat without bringing in another contractor.

If you are comparing contractors before starting a drywall project, it is worth knowing what separates a reliable crew from one that will leave you with problems later. Our post on red flags to watch for when hiring a contractor walks through what to check before signing anything, including licensing and how a crew handles drywall and stucco work specifically.
